Your mind is racing with ideas and the moment leading up to “yes to the dress” should be fun and filled with excitement! However, it’s very easy to get overwhelmed while searching for your gown. It’s important to go into your appointment with a mental checklist and a (very) select guest list. When preparing for your bridal appointment,  remember these few key tips.

  1. Have an open mind! Nine times out of ten, the bride chooses a dress she never thought she’d like. Sometimes what you want, might not look good on your particular shape, so trust your stylist’s eye and be open to trying on different silhouettes and styles.
  2. Do your research. Before you shop, make sure your boutique carries designers and styles you find yourself drawn to. At Everthine, we cater to the bride looking for a dress that is a reflection of her personal style. Our collection of gowns are unique and feel one-of-a-kind. You will not find your typical ball-gown with us! Its important not to set yourself up for disappointment by making an appointment at a boutique that isn’t your taste.
  3. Choose your entourage wisely. We suggest leaving the “crew” behind and bringing one or two guests that know YOU and your style best. Chat with them beforehand and let them in on your vision. Don’t be afraid to let them know that this is ultimately your decision and they are there for support. Advice should only be given when asked.
  4. Give yourself enough time! Gowns typically can take anywhere from 6 – 9 months to arrive. Most wedding gowns are made to order. Many are even hand sewn. We suggest purchasing your gown at least 9 months in advance. This gives you plenty of time for alterations and most importantly, peace of mind!
