Dermal Fillers

As we age, we lose volume in our soft tissue and skin which is most noticeable in the face and the hands. This results in a saggy, hollow, or sunken appearance to the face, thin lips and a bony appearance to the hands. Fillers are injectable materials that replace this lost volume, restoring a more youthful look. Currently available fillers include Restylane®, Perlane®, Radiesse®, Juvederm® and Sculptra.
Fillers are injected into the skin with a small, thin needle. To minimize the discomfort you will have a numbing cream applied to the area for approximately 20 minutes prior to the treatment. Because these are injections, most people have some mild bruising afterward which may be covered with makeup. You should not take aspirin, ibuprofen, Advil, or Motrin for 10 days prior to the treatment in order to minimize the bruising. Many vitamins and supplements also promote bleeding, so you should check with FUZION's medical staff if you have any questions about what you are taking. These fillers are temporary, lasting 6-12 months depending on the filler used, the amount used, your age, and your skin type. The skin is dynamic and changes over time. That is why temporary fillers are a better choice than permanent fillers.
